244: Extracts from a Narrative of the Proceedings of the Government of the North Western Provinces, in the General Department, from the 1st January to the 12th February 1858

The collection consists of the following small collections of papers, each of which has a title page, a table of contents, and an extract from the Narrative, dated 25th June 1859:
- Coll 1, Papers regarding a bill passed on account of Establishment attached to the Medical School at Agra for December 1857. Includes an abstract expenditure on account of the Government Dispensary, Thomason Hospital, and Medical School at Agra for the month of December 1857.
- Coll 2, Advance of 4,000 rupees for the repair and construction of workshops, and the wages of artisans and pressmen engaged at the Government Press at Agra, January 1858 to June 1859.
- Coll 3, Authority given to Dr Thomas Farquhar, Superintendent of Vaccination at Agra, to entertain an English Writer, a Superintendent of Vaccinators, and Vaccinators, during the vaccine season, December 1857 to June 1859.
- Coll 4, Contingent bills submitted by Dr Thomas Farquhar, Superintendent of Vaccination at Agra, for the months of November and December 1857, on account of the pay of the vaccinators who had come from Rohilkhand to attend the Agra Medical School.
- Coll 5, Letter from C B Thornhill, Officiating Secretary to the Government of the North Western Provinces, dated the 5th of January 1858, conveying the thanks of that Government to H A Brown, Officiating Post Master of Agra, for the energy and intelligence which marked his management of the postal arrangements at that station throughout the recent disturbances.
- Coll 6, Disbursement sanctioned on account of pay due to 65 Sowars employed during the month of June 1857 for conveying the thannah and other daks throughout the District, and for the speedy transmission of important intelligence, January 1858 to June 1859. Includes a list of the Sowars, giving the name of the Sowar and that of his father, where stationed, date of appointment, period of employment, and salary.
