- In this letter, Shariarjee Rustomjee, Bombay, writes to Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf, Bushire, replying to Kemball’s letter dated 15 April 1854 and responding to Kemball’s advice on Rustomjee’s appointment of an agent to carry on his trade with Persia. Rustomjee states that in future he will act according to Kemball’s advice and appoint a British subject, but asks for Kemball’s favour in the meantime to exert his influence to protect his agent from unjust exactions should any emergency call forth.
