Letter from M Wilks, the Acting Resident of Mysore, to the Government of Madras, enclosing papers compiled by William Ingledew to be used as written instructions for native vaccinators. Wilks comments on the receptiveness of Hindu medical practitioners to western medicine.
Encloses: 'On the Cow Pox. Compiled from the best and most useful Treatises on that subject to which are added selected communications from the Vaccinators employed in disseminating that Disease in various parts of Mysoor, translated into Telinga and Hindoostannee by William Ingledew, And from the latter into Persian by Gholam Hyder, Mysore 1808', comprised of extracts from:

- Edward Jenner, On the Origin of the Vaccine Inoculation (1801)
