Letter regarding the response of His Majesty (Fath ʻAlī Shāh) to the insulting conduct which the Shiraz Government had shown to the Bushire Residency, and thanking Lieutenant-Colonel Macdonald for his involvement in the matter.
The letter concludes by informing him that the Royal Firman had been forwarded to the Governor of Fars and Zekee Khan [Zakī Khān], and that he hoped the property shipwrecked on the Dashtee [Dashtī] coast would soon be restituted.
Enclosed with the letter are the following:
- Letter from Ephraim Gerrish Stannus, Resident at Bushire, to His Royal Highness the Prince of Shiraz (Ḥosayn-‘Alī Mīrzā), 19 November 1826, forwarding a copy of the Royal Firman and requesting he assist in the restitution of the shipwrecked property.
- Letter from Ephraim Gerrish Stannus, Resident at Bushire, to Mohamed Zekee Khan (Muḥammad Zakī Khān), 19 November 1826 informing him that he would not be discussing the matter of assistance in securing the release of Abdool Russool Khan (‘Abd al-Rasūl Khān) until an explanation of Zekee Khan's recent conduct to Major Evan Jervis regarding himself and Lieutenant-Colonel Macdonald. The letter also forwards a copy of the Royal Firman and requests his assistance in resolving the matters in order to prevent a precedent being set for the future.
