Report by Acting 1st Physician H Cook on the treatment of leprosy at the Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy Hospital with chaulmogra oil (also referred to as Oleum Gynocardii) and cashewnut oil, consisting of report; tabulated statement showing the cases treated from Oct 1868; and detailed patient histories and case studies for named patients.
Additional report by Surgeon-Major J Dougall, addressed to the Chief Commissioner of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, providing an update on the patients treated with gurjun oil as detailed in his report [see related descriptions], commenting on their diet, their health, and recommending future treatment and possible employment.
Resolution of the Government of India on Dr Dougall's method of treatment, ordering further trials and confirming that large supplies of gurjun oil will be obtained from the Andaman Islands.
