50: This collection consists of two small collections of papers, marked Coll 1 and Coll 2, on the proposed establishment of a School of Medicine and Surgery at Lahore, and the appointment of a Chemical Examiner in the Punjab, July 1857 to October 1858. Includes a printed copy of the following three pamphlets: "On the Function of Salt in Agriculture" by A Beauchamp Northcote, Senior Assistant in the Royal College of Chemistry, from the Philosophical Magazine for September 1855; "On the Brine-Springs of Worcestershire" by A Beauchamp Northcote, Senior Assistant in the Royal College of Chemistry, from the Philosophical Magazine for January 1855; and "On the Constitution of Allophane" by Augustus Beauchamp Northcote, Senior Assistant in the Royal College of Chemistry, from the Philosophical Magazine for May 1857.

• Coll 3, Letter from Lord Canning, Governor General of India, to the Court of Directors of the East India Company, No.23, dated 6th July 1858, stating the decided and effective support received by him from the members of the Council of India.
• Coll 4, Narrative of events submitted by the Government of the North Western Provinces for the week ending 31st May 1858.
