The collection consists of the following small collections of papers, each of which has a title page, a table of contents, and an extract from the Narrative, No.7, dated 10th April 1858:
- Coll 1, Extracts from the periodical reports of the Commissioners of Circuit on the public charities assisted by Government in their respective Divisions, August 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 2, Correspondence regarding the dismissal of a Native Doctor named Doorga Doss Chatterjea, having been convicted of making a false charge for leeches, August 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 3, Correspondence regarding the temporary employment of Native doctors at the Presidency and in it's vicinity, December 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 4, Remarks by the Inspector of Dispensaries, Lower Provinces, on Native medicines and other matters, with related correspondence, April 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 5, Proposal by the Inspector of Dispensaries for establishing certain dispensaries in the Lower Provinces, November 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 6, Monthly return of patients in the Lunatic Asylum at Bhowanipore for September, October and November 1857.
- Coll 7, Rules for the control and management of Lunatic Asylums. The file is not present in the volume. There is only a note stating that the papers were with M Bourdillon.
- Coll 8 (Vol I and II), Correspondence regarding the examination of E Drummond, Officiating Magistrate of Dinagepore [Dinajpur], by the second, or higher standard, September 1857 to July 1858.
- Coll 9, Correspondence regarding the employment of the patients of the Dullunda Native Lunatic Asylum in the cultivation and manufacture of Jute, November 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 10, Report of the half-yearly examination of Covenanted Assistants and others, with related correspondence, September 1857 to April 1858.

- Coll 14, Permission granted to Inspecting Post Masters to occupy Circuit Houses, October 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 15, Monthly advances on account of the Bullock Train Establishment from Raneegunge [Raniganj] to Benares authorised for the period the Wagon Train might be employed in conveying troops between those places, September 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 16, Correspondence regarding licences granted to use printing presses under Act XV of 1857, to regulate the establishment of printing presses and to restrain in certain cases the circulation of printed books and papers, July 1857 to April 1858.
- Coll 17, Report by the Superintendent of the Town and Port of Mutlah, on the several points on which the Bengal Chamber of Commerce solicited information regarding that Port, October 1857 to April 1858.
