This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, resolutions, and consultations, cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. The correspondents are: the Government of Bombay; the Court of Directors of the East India Company; Captain Stafford Bettesworth Haines, Political Agent at Aden.
The item concerns a request by the Court of Directors that the pendals [temporary buildings] at Aden, erected for the use of the officers of Her Majesty’s 6th Regiment of Foot [Royal Warwickshire Regiment], be sold, and a reply from Haines that they are currently occupied by the 10th and 16th Regiments of the Bombay Native Infantry.
