Colonel J P Nixon [John Pigott], Her Majesty's Consul General, Baghdad, forwards copy telegrams regarding the imposition of quarantine in Baghdad as a result of an outbreak of plague, and declaring Bussorah [Al-Basrah] to be infected. Telegrams received from: Syud Mahomed Redif, Governor General in Turkish Arabia; Surgeon-Major W H Colvill, providing a brief history of the plague in the region, and case studies for four named patients; and from the Sanitary Board, Constantinople.
