Formal group portrait of Lord Lawrence and his staff, seated or standing around a table and probably photographed at Simla. Of the thirteen sitters, ten are identified beneath the print as follows: 'Mr S. Lushington, Lord Lawrence, Sir H. Durand, Mr Whitley Stokes, Lord Sandhurst, Mr Massey, Col Dickens, Sir H.S. Maine, Hon G.N. Taylor, Sir W. Muir'. Among those not named is Col Henry Norman. But see Photo 355/1 (50), which is a duplicate of this print, and has a (probably) more reliable letterpress identification key. It is dated 'the latter end of 1865'.
