View looking across open level ground at Yenangyaung towards the temple and kyaung or monastery on a small hill. The view is taken from a similar spot to Colesworthy Grant's watercolour of the same scene (WD 540, print 19). Tripe's viewpoint is somewhat to the right of Grant's position. With letterpress note: 'Remarkable for the brickwork platform on which the Pagoda is built'.
