View of earthenware pots standing on a shaded brick platform. With letterpress note: 'It is a frequent thing, in a Burmese thoroughfare to see, placed for the use of passers by, waterpots, suspended from the boughs of trees, or under a carved wooden shed, or in one roughly made as above'. This photograph is used as the basis for a lithograph at plate 13 of Henry Yule, 'A Narrative of the Mission to the Court of Ava in 1855' (London, 1858), where it has been enlivened by the addition of a Burmese figure drinking from a ladle.
