Photograph of the The Mehtar Mahal gateway in Bijapur. The Mehtar Mahal dates from 1620 during the epoch of Ibrahim Adil Shah II. This elegant gateway constitutes the entrance to the courtyard of the Mehtar Mosque. The exterior is like a square tower with two slender minarets on the sides and a balconied room on the top. Above this room there is an open terrace surrounded by a wall with balconied windows. Delicate ornamental detail cover the whole surface.
