A second view looking across the Teppakulam Tank (see also print 33), taken from a different angle and showing a slightly more distant view of the central island and temple. Lyon's 'Notes to accompany a series of photographs prepared to illustrate the ancient architecture of southern India' (Marion and Co., London, 1870), edited by James Fergusson, gives the following description of this photograph: '324 - is another view of the same Tank as shown in No. 323. It gives an angle view of the island in the centre ; the house on the right [a bungalow, partly out of frame] was in 1868 occupied by the collector of Madura. In both these views it will be observed that arches are introduced in the structure of the central pavilion, somewhat resembling in style those of the palace just described. It is one of the very few instances where such can be detected in any religious edifice, and even here they are half concealed by galleries and ornaments in front of them.'
