General view of Bushire from a high point. The photograph was likely taken from the Governor's House rather than with the intention of depicting it as no particular structure appears to be the main subject of the photograph.
The sea front can be seen along the horizon at right and immediately right of centre a flag-staff or telegraph antenna can be seen. This may indicate the location of the British Residency. Stone-built, palm and wooden structures fill the foreground and middle-ground; palm trees are interespersed between.
