The map accompanies explanatory notes in the file (f 33) dated 9 April 1933, and indicates the intended and actual courses of the SS Begum, with nautical measurements, leading up to its touching of the Rennie Shoals [Mushţ Rinnī] in the Persian Gulf, approximately fifty miles north of Bahrain. The course of the Begum is marked in blue pencil, with annotations, and the location of the Rennie Shoals, marked in black ink.
The map is signed by the Begum’s Master, O G Rowland Jones, and by the vessel’s second officer (signature illegible).
