Another copy at Photo 1084/1 (2), in White's 'Tibet and Lhasa' (Calcutta, [c. 1906]), where the caption reads: 'This glacier, named the Phu-chung-phu glacier, is situated to the south of the Clolamo Lakes in the north of Sikhim, and is one of the most beautiful glaciers in the country'. In his book, 'Sikhim and Bhutan' (1909), p.89, White writes: 'We pitched our tents on the lateral moraine above the magnificent glacier from which the river Teesta springs...I waited for hours to get a good photograph, and in the end I was successful, although I was nearly frozen in the attempt. The wind swept down the glacier from a small gap on the left, and I had to wait for a clear moment. The result, however, repaid me for my trouble'.
