Group portrait of nuns at Tatsang. Another copy at Photo 1084/1 (8), in White's 'Tibet and Lhasa' (Calcutta, [c. 1906]), where the caption reads: 'This was taken at the Nunnery of Ta-tsang, a most desolate spot, from which not a single habitation is to be seen. Our visit was a red letter day to the women, as none of them had ever seen a white man before. The wigs are made of sheep's wool, and, like the rest of their clothes, indescribably dirty'.
