View of a mountain lake, with buildings in the foreground. Another copy at Photo 1084/1 (11), in White's 'Tibet and Lhasa' (Calcutta, [c. 1906]), where the caption reads: 'This small but beautiful lake is only twenty miles from Gang-tok, the Capital of Sikhim. It lies at the foot of the Na-thö La, at about 12.500 feet above sea level; it was here that the troubles and difficulties of those who crossed the Na-thö La began in the journey to Tibet, and it was here that they ended on the homeward march'.
