View looking towards the head of the pass, with snow-capped peaks rising on either side. Another copy of this print at Photo 1084/1 (12), in White's 'Tibet and Lhasa' (Calcutta, [c. 1906]), where the caption reads: 'Cham-pi-thang was the first halting place on the Tibet side of Na-thö La [Natu La], and this picture gives a most vivid idea of the glorious scenery looking backward from Cha-pi-thong over the fir-clad slopes of the mountains, with the steep, snow-covered pass into Sikhim in the background'.
