Correspondence regarding an alleged incident in which two Europeans - Mr Bertrand, the dragoman of the French Consulate at Jeddah, and Mrs Arnaud, wife of the Sanitary Doctor at Jeddah - were held in quarantine in an open boat for six days. The quarantine arrangements at Aden are also discussed in detail.
