Responses to three suggestions made by the Army Sanitary Commission: 1) as to the owners of villages being held responsible for the sanitary condition; 2) as to the issue of short and explicit rules and recommendations by the Sanitary Commission for the guidance of the people; 3) as to the desirability of introducing simple sanitary teaching into schools and colleges.
Responses received from the Secretary of State for India, the Governments of Madras, the Punjab, Bengal, the Central Provinces, Burma, Mysore Divisions, Assam, and the Hyderabad Assigned Districts.
Includes copy of the Army Sanitary Commission memorandum on the Report of the Sanitary Commissioner with Bengal for 1877, where the suggestions were first made.
