The map shows 'Al Morrah' and other tribal areas and a few physical features in the south-eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. The route followed by Bertram Sydney Thomas is also shown. A 'dira' is a tribal area. The word Baduin in the title is equivalent to Bedouin.
The sketch map is described on folio 160 as an enclosure to the Political Residency express letter of 5 September 1935 from the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf (Lieutenant-Colonel Percy Gordon Loch) to the Political Agent, Bahrain (folios 151-154).
The map is inscribed on the verso 'See XL at P. 144'.
