General view, with enclosure wall in foreground: 'It faces the east, and consists of a shrine, an ante-chamber and a mandapa, with aporch in front of the entrance doorway which is on the east. It was surrounded by a heavily-buily wall enclosing a courtyard and having its entrance upon the north side...The temple stands athwart the wall and cuts through it. It is therefore evident that the wall was built after the shrine, and perhaps long after the big temple. The masonry of the walls and the pillars of the courtyard gateway are of the same style and age as those of the temple at Mehkar, and therefore later than the temple itself' (Progress Report of the Archaeological Survey of Western India, for the year ending 30th June 1902, p. 17).
