View looking across the tank towards the temple in a grove of trees on the far side. 'On the north of the Mahamayi temple enclosure is a large square masonry tank, upon the far, or north side, of which is the little stone temple of Kanthi or Kanthesvara. It is a neat little building of no great age, being built in a composite style with Muhammadan features cleverly adapted. Into its walls have been set images from some very old temple of the 8th or 9th century, among them being a representation of the marriage of Siva and Parvati, a most unusual sculpture outside of the cave temples...The temple is cracked from top to bottom, and is in a very shattered condition, probably due to the subsidence of the foundation in the west side.'
