Calcutta. Eden's Garden [Eden Gardens]. Photographer: Unknown
- Scope & Content:
-
Genre: Urban Topographical Photography
Close view of the memorial statue of Sir William Peel V.C. in the Eden Gardens, at the north end of the Maidan. Visible on the skyline in the background is the spire of the Burmese Pagoda in the gardens. This was damaged in the cyclone of 1864 and the presence of scaffolding around it, probably indicates that this photograph was taken in the course of its repair after this date.
