View of the ravine, with the dry valley and plateau in the background :'Patalpani. The two rivers meet and immediately plunge about 120 ffet into a deep pool but this is only in the dry season and no water is falling. 'Patal-pani' means water (pani) which comes from the depth of the earth ... Lime is evidently present in large quantities as all rocks have a coating of it ...' (note on back of print)
