A group of people are in a public house, the men outnumbering the women. A piece of paper is attached to the verso and reads: ' Kishorn 3 5"/ The bars in the amenity block provide plenty of opportunities to drink, with very long opening ours, but after a twelve-hour shift many of the men don't get started on the drink, except at weekends. Although free entertainment is provided on Saturday nights, and a film every night, many of the construction workers take the tortuous seven mile road to the nearest pubs at Loch Carron (1,2). But there are very few women (3). The midges are a real scourge at Kishorn, even in the bars (3). Letter writing (4). Published on page 116 of ‘The Oil Rush’ (London: Quartet Books, 1976).
