Third section of a four-part joined panorama, here numbered 12-15, looking towards the harbour mouth, with a brigantine at anchor in the middleground. This is part of a series of ten views enclosed in Newton's despatch no. 11 of 19 March 1857. Titles for the series are taken from those given in Newton's covering letter (Mss. Add. 46889A f. 44). For another copy, see Mss. Add. 31980 (294). Prints 12-15 are reproduced as a single image in Charles Newton, 'Travels in the Levant' (2 vols., London, 1865), vol. 2, plate 18.
