Full-length standing portrait of the Ponbo with a youth, presumably his son, standing beside him. 'This place contains some 8 black tents, including that of the Chocho Ponbo, who lives here all the year round…Chocho Farsa is not marked on the map at all (which at least causes no misunderstanding). I did not reach camp till 6 p.m. but the Ponbo called at once...' ('Progress Report, August 7st to 16th,' p. 2, Add.63129). Photograph probably taken on 14 August, when Calvert records in his diary, 'Photograohed the Ponbo & his tent' (Mss. Add. 63121, f. 94).
