The site of the find of stonework and pottery [Yarim Tappa]. Photographer: Sykes, Percy Molesworth
- Scope & Content:
-
Genre: Archaeological Photography
View of the mound, with Dabbardast Khan and Masud Khan: 'On the day after my arrival I was taken to Yarim Tappa, the site of the discovery [of the pieces seen in prints 16-17], situated some two miles north of Mohamedabad [Darreh Gaz]. The mound, which is perhaps 400 feet in length, rises to a height of some 60 feet, and is one of many similar mounds, most of which are undoubtedly artificial, and must consequently be of immense antiquity. I photographed my host and his cousin on the exact site of the find near the south-west corner of the mound.'
