- Scope & Content:
-
Genre: Architectural Photography
View looking across stream towards the the tomb, partly obscured by trees: 'In the afternoon, we rode back towards Firuza to visit the tomb of the late Ilkhani. The shrine, as it now is, consists of a central blue dome and two side arches, with four minarets. The building is approached by a fine flight of steps and looks on to a warm spring shadowed by secular plane trees and inhabited by large fish. The tomb chamber is panelled with marble and is beautified by a band of exquisite old blue tiles, taken from a shrine at Jajarm.' (Sykes p. 4). [Gelatin silver print, 166x109mm].
