Showing Tagi Raja seated on a makeshift dais in the British camp, with his attendants gathered around him. A gramophone can be seen on the left on the seat beside on of the British officers. The visit is recorded in the report: 'The next day Tagi Raja of the Kutsun (Hazarikhoa) Akas came to visit us. He came in some state with flag-bearers and drummers and in all about 100 attendants. He is a fine, tall, dignified man. He wore blue silk Tibetan robes and a gilt Tibetan hat with a red coral of the 5th degree. As the party advanced, the Aka drums beat a salute and their followers lined up. I met Tagi at our perimeter and conducted him into the camp. He was very nervous and evidently much afraid. He asked me what we had come for and professed his friendship, saying his heart was clear as the Tenga River. He said the last Sahibs had come over 30 years ago and then it was not a peaceful visit. I reassured him and he soon became very friendly. The gramophone pleased them immensely and they were very interested in our bugler and constantly asked for calls to be sounded. We parted the best of friends...'
