From Erode: I think we arrived in Mercara on April 25th. In Mercara itself I did not record music, but we saw a marriage ceremony. I did work in two places, Napoklu in N. Coorg and Ponampet in S. Coorg. The feet of the bride with silver ornaments. Once she had entered the house, she was not allowed to go outside in order to be photographed, even not at the top of the stairs to veranda. But she was allowed to go to the veranda at a place there were no stairs and she kindly lifted her sari to show her feet. Photographer: Bake, Arnold Adriaan
