Original inscriptions: -勃 (front lower right in ink, attached to page with pin; first character unintelligible)
Further inscriptions: H. Sh. (front lower left in ink)
Flowering branch of an unidentified fruit plant. Alternate yellowish twigs branch out laterally from a thick green branch. Green elliptic leaves with serrate margins and palmate-pinnate veins densely adorn all secondary twigs as well as the main branch. Most leaves are whole and dark green, few light green-yellowish, and on the lower half of the branch many show irregular signs of decays, brown edges, and gaping holes in the core of the leaf blade. Small flowers cluster at nodes, adorning the full length of the twigs, many still in closed globular buds. Flowers are stellate, pale yellowish-light green coloured, with five pairs of white stamens one between each petal. Lower left : dissected view of the flower pink pedicel, pedicel with ovary and two stamens attached pending down, three stamens separated and depicted upward, finally five petals mixed with a pair of stamens facing downward. Lower right : small branch bearing fruits, with light brown twig, three leaves, one half deteriorated, and four fruits attached to the twig. The fruit is attached through a long pedicel and a stellate bract structure and enclosed in a campanulate capsule, the lower end winging out widely, all green coloured. Further to the right: dissected view of the fruit, including horizontally cut fruit capsule, showing lower sinuous and widely winged out end; globular orange fruit with patterned skin and two seeds visible embedded in the internal white flesh. One seed is shown dissected on the right, seed is dark green, oblong with pointy end.
Any further details: Page cut on left, top and right sides.
