Magnolia champaca (L.) Baill. ex Pierre; Magnoliaceae

Woody, greyish branch, with lanteral branchlets. Long, elliptic lanceolate leaves, with entire margins, slighly ondulate. Some leaves show signs of decay. Numerous solitary flowers along the branchlets. Short, thick, segmented pedicel, light grey, and nurous long and narrow, lanceolate yellow-orange petals. Some flowers still closed in elongated light green buds. Internal thick pistil structure visible among the petals of some flowers. Lower right: small leafy twig bearing fruits. Cluster of sub-globose fruit, light brown with white dots surface and internal red flesh. One fruit is shown dissected on the right, witha small, elongated and pointy red seed shown dissected on its right. Lower right: dissected view of the flower, showing stamens, thick pistil on a thick pedicel with a small brown bract, set of nine yellow petals, of increasing length and width.
