Inscribed above in Persian: ‘tasvir-i bahramand khan’ (a picture of Bahramand Khan); below: ‘‘amal-i lachman singh’ (work of Lachman Singh).
Lightly coloured drawing; on an album leaf with mauve gilt-sprinkled border.

Bahramand Khan, facing right, stands with his right hand resting on a ‘katar,’ holding up his left hand. His turban and ‘patka’ are decorated in green.
Note: Bahramand Khan served under Aurangzeb, becoming Mir Bakhshi (chief paymaster) in 1692. He died in the Deccan in 1702 (Shah Nawaz Khan (1911-52), I, 365).
