Numbered 70 in Persian inventory note; inscription at bottom mostly trimmed away.
Gouache with gold; narrow gold inner border.
301 by 241 mm; page 403 by 293 mm.
Aurangzeb in full armour and holding a gold lance is mounted upon a charger armed with chain-mail. There is a gold halo about the emperor s helmet and his armour is striped with gold. The chestnut horse is prancing to the right; green background.
Note: Aurangzeb is frequently depicted riding this prancing horse fully armoured. Cf. Delhi (1911), pl.XLVIII; Robinson (1976A), V, 85. The same horse occurs in J.3, 5.
