Idris sits on a deer-skin spread on a hillock, courtiers around him, some bringing rolls of cloth. In the foreground the various stages of weaving are performed, including the washing and drying of the wool, spinning, skeining and weaving.
Note: An illustration from a historical text covering the dawn of civilisation. Idris, normally identified with the biblical Enoch, is distinguished in Muslim literature as a scientist and astronomer who introduced the use of the pen and of woven garments, hence his position as the patron saint of tailors.
