Numbered 20 in Persian inventory note; numbered ‘15’ on border (erased); inscribed on reverse: ‘tasvir-i padshahzadi kar-i murassa‘‘ (picture of a princess, set with jewels); pasted on reverse from cover-paper: ‘tasvir-i husn-i nim qad-i murassa‘-i padshahzadi’ (picture of a beauty, half-length set with jewels, a princess).
Gouache with gold, set with seed pearls and ruby fragments (some missing); mauve and orange gouache borders; outer margin of blue paper.
106 by 49 mm; page 356 by 200 mm.
The lady, facing left, is shown threequarter length at a window dressed in orange striped with gold, her black hair loose down her back. The background is grey with brocade blind at the top.
