Gouache; background retouched with the same yellow as J.16, 1; on an album leaf with stencilled chocolate border and grey paper margin.
123 by 79 mm; page 337 by 224 mm.
Reverse: a quatrain written diagonally in ‘nasta‘liq’ calligraphy: signed: ‘‘Abd al-Rahim’ and dated AH999/AD1590-91: decorated with drawings of six birds.
A yogi of youthful appearance with pale blue skin is seated holding a staff and a ladle, a pot before him. He is wearing a red turban and brown cloak, black earrings and a horn suspended about the neck; yellow backgound.
