Inscribed above in Persian: ‘tasvir-i sih o panj, salagi navab sahib vaqilah ‘aziz’ ‘khan bahadur chagta’ (picture thirty-five, the devotee Nawab Sahib Waqilah ‘Aziz Khan Bahadur Chaghata); numbered 49 in Persian inventory note; inscribed on reverse: ‘‘amal-i chhajmal’ (the work of Chhajmal, cf.. J.25, 7); and in nagari:’ Aziz Khan.’

‘Aziz Khan is seated on a terrace with a wine-red bolster and cushions, holding ‘pan’ in both hands which he has taken from an open box, his ‘katar’ and ‘talwar’ on the floral carpet beside him. The sky is streaked.
