Inscribed below in Persian: ‘‘amal-i mohan singh’ (the work of Mohan Singh); above: ‘tasvir-i mahadev ma‘ah parvati’ (a picture of Mahadev and Parvati).
Drawing on paper with undecorated border.
230 by 143 mm; page 278 by 181 mm.
Siva is seated on a tiger-skin outside a cave, one hand in a ‘gomukhi’; Parvati and Nandi are seated before him.
Note: Mohan Singh is mainly represented in the collection by his work on ‘ragamala’ illustrations for Johnson (Albums 34 and 42).
