The Fruit Sellers. Photographer: Jones, Calvert Richard
- Scope & Content:
-
Inscription: Inscribed on verso: 'The Fruitsellers' 'Photograph taken by Fox Talbot in the Cloisters at Lacock Abbey. An interesting group of figures with the costumes of the early forties.' [typewritten]
One of two copies (prints 324 and 714) of this subject, four men and two women posing with baskets of fruit, by the cloisters of Lacock Abbey. Larry Schaaf has identified several of the sitters as being in Calvert Jones’ employ, therefore making it likely that this photograph was a collaboration between Jones and Talbot. Trimmed print laid down on card.
