Inscribed in pencil on verso: '12 8/ 30'/ 16 Oct 1840'.
A calotype negative possibly taken in the South Gallery of Lacock Abbey and showing a close-up of a harp with a music stand to the side and a grand piano behind; a pile of books visible through the strings of the harp. The photograph was taken with a 30 minute exposure time. A positive print of this image can be found at Talbot Photo 11 (36). This negative is particularly light sensitive and should not be viewed under normal light levels.
