A calotype negative chemically brushed to produce a narrow vertical line which shows a small rectangular chimney stack with a section of the slatted roof underneath, it possibly part of the rear of the clock tower. The negative was originally in wrapping paper marked '9 Sept./ 1842', inside of which has another paper inscribed with, 'c.a. 9"/ c.A. 5"/ 9 Sept/ some dipped in strong iod. pot/ then washed with g.' This negative is particularly light sensitive and should not be viewed under normal light levels.
