One of two copies (prints 25-26) of this subject, view of the statue taken at an angle, with surrounding buildings of the old town in the background. Photoglyphic engraving from original stereograph by Clouzard and Soulier. One of seven architectural subjects to be included in the 12 November 1858 edition of 'Photographic News'. Photoglyphic engraving, printed title beneath image, 'Photogyphic. Presented with the Photographic News./ Statue of Charles IV/ at Prague, Bohemia'. Image not taken from original plate (1 tick mark at bottom right). Written at top right corner of page in pencil by Eugene Ostroff (Curator of photography at The National Museum of American History and who visited Lacock Abbey in 1965): 'See 349' with encircled 'EO'. Image size 79 x 67 mm, press imprint size 102 x 129 mm, paper size 220 x 299 mm. Slight mottling on image and paper foxed.
