Collection of Verses by Hildebert of Lavardin, Marbode of Rennes, and others

These folios contain a series of verses, some of which were written by Hildebert of Lavardin, Archbishop of Tours, Marbode, Bishop of Rennes, and anonymous authors. At least one of the poems has been attributed to Heloise (f. 77v; see Mews, The Lost Love Letters,164-66). The manuscript may have been copied at Bury St Edmunds in the 12th century. The folios include, amongst other poems:
ff. 39r-45r: verses by Hildebert;
ff. 45v-49v: Hildebert's Liber de querimonia et conflictu carnis et spiritus in prose and verse;
ff. 49v-55v: Hildebert's verse Vita Sanctæ Mariae Egyptiacæ;
ff. 56r-81v: poems by Marbode, Bishop of Rennes and other authors, including De lapidibus, De ornamentis verborum, and lives of SS. Laurence, Maurice, and Thais, and other miscellaneous pieces.
ff. 82v-89v: Hildebert's Vita Machometi.
Decoration: rubrics and titles in red (ff. 39r, 40v-45v, 54v-60v); manicula (ff. 47r, 56r, 61r-v, 82r-v).
