Has asked Wood to give Canning the necessary directions to send the force to China. The expedition will be very delicate and disagreeable. Hopes for a swift conclusion, so that the soldiers can return home. Nothing can be more suspicious than the enormous preparations being made by France. Britain needs 20 good battalions from India.
