Hopes to be able to send a detailed estimate of the expenses of the Expedition shortly, comments. Suggests that some of the transports be sent back when the troops have been landed, the ships could be paid off. Elphinstone is glad that Canning intends to publish a Notification before the Expedition sails. There is a temporary Persian Consul in Bombay who is asking questions about the preparations for the Expedition, but as he has never been recognised by the Government, his questions are left unanswered. Lord Dunkellin is anxiously waiting for his letters, he is quite well.
